Major order for IMA: Three new lot size-1 production cells for Häcker Küchen
IMA Klessmann GmbH has designed three fully-automatic lot size-1 production cells for the production of kitchen fronts, niche surfacing and side panels using new process engineering in the field of laser edging for Häcker Küchen GmbH & Co KG. The order with a total volume of 8.5 million EURO will be produced in three delivery stages: the delivery of the first production cell is planned for July 2015, the second will follow in December 2015 and the third in May 2016.
The new high-end production cells will replace three existing plants – two competitive products and one IMA machine. With their assistance Häcker will be able to raise production to a total of 1.18 million furniture components per annum.
"In addition to an innovative and solid technology, what matters for us is fast and reliable project implementation. The new production cells must manufacture with a high level of process reliability within an exactly defined schedule. We can depend on that with IMA", Dirk Krupka, the managing director of Häcker said.
"As the third largest kitchen furniture manufacturer in Germany and the largest employer in the east Westphalian Rödinghausen, Häcker is an important reference customer for us ", Rüdiger Schliekmann, the acting partner of IMA explained.
The new plants offer Häcker a maximum amount of flexibility – especially with respect to the edging of the furniture parts. Each production cell of the Combima type provides joint-less laser edging as well as conventional glue edging. The edge magazine of the Combima can be fitted with up to 96 different edges. As a result, a very wide range of options is guaranteed.
